Talk to me about Boots!
I am looking to purchase a new pair of boots. They will be boots that I cover a lot of ground in and I will not be carrying that much weight in a pack on my back,10 to 15 pounds maximum.
I really prefer light weight boots with a flexible shank in them, and I like them in an eight to ten inch high upper. The boots have to be less then 3 pounds total weight for me to consider them.
Please let me know what boots you have found to fit the bill for yourself.

RE: Talk to me about Boots!
Thanks Steven,
I have a pair of alpha burley's that I bowhunt with.I have walked significant distances in them turkey hunting and they are not foot friendly.I am looking for a traditional style hunting boot that is either leather or leather and cordura with a flexible shank, with them being very light.I am looking hard at Lowa seeker gtx's and a boot made by Schnee's that is leather and cordura.

I have viewed the Kenetreks and they do look like an extremely well made boot.I have also heard a number of reviews about them and they all have been very positive.I have visited Lathrop and Son's website a number of times and it looks like they have a great custom fitting program with the Hanwags and other boots that they sell.Realistically I don't see me spending the kind of money they get for their system.I see me maxed at around $300.
I have a pair of meindl ibex's that have all the characteristics I want in a boot except that they beat up my feet.I may have to make a long drive to a Cabela's or somewhere else where I can try on a number of different boot manufacturers.
Thank you for the responses!

Danner Pronghorns...nothing else to talk about
Perfect for what you describe. Excellent traction, Gore-Tex, durable, light, etc.
I have solid leather with 200 grains Thinsulate and love em.
