Default Gold Tip Camo XT 55/75

Just tried some out and they are a MUCH better arrow than CX 300' s and Terminator Hunters that I have been using in the past.

The Carbon Express would not group my broadheads(Phantoms & Magnus Snuffers;both 125 gr) with my field points.

The Gold Tips group(broadheads and field points) perfectly at 20 yards. They are about the same weight as the CX300' s(8.1 gr/inch). They also look waaay stronger and beefier than the CX 300' s.

The best thing of all is that I picked them up for only $46/dozen. Thats with lock nocks and inserts. Also made in the good old USA.

Im glad someone finally posted about these, ive been wanting to switch to Gold tips. I have some questions though. What is your bow setup? Like, whats the arrow length and draw wieght, broadhead weight, etc. Reason im wondering is that ive heard that gold tips tend to not shoot to there potential when there borderline on spine size. And according to my bow specs. im right on the line between a 55/75 and the higher size, but id like to shoot the 55/75s. Thanks.

i used gold tips xt 55/75 last year, and yes they are a very good arrow. the problem that i had, seem to have a lose of penetration. my arrow was a little on the light side, so i' am going to order the xt75/95 these are 9.1 gr. per in. i,am shooting a mathews sq2 - 72lbs- 28" draw- 29" arrow 3- 4" vanes 100gr rocket steelhead, and i am useing a release. my kinetic energy was only about 49. these arrows are some of the best i have ever shot. hope this helps???

I' ve gone back and forth between the 5575' s and the 7595' s, hunters and xt' s. I' m going with the 7595 xt' s for good. Love ' em! Not a major, noticeable difference, just like the extra weight and stiffer spine. I shoot 68 #' s, 29" ' s. 420 grain arrow when all said and done, including the arrow wrap.

The finish on the Camo models is very smooth(almost too smooth).

My setup is:

SQ2 at 27 and 75 lbs.

Arrow length is 27 inchs with 3--5 inch vanes(3 degree offset).

I am using the standard Gold Tip insert and lock nock.

I am shooting 125 gr Phantoms.(4 blade-fixed blade cut on contact with 1 main blade and 2 bleeders) these heads have quite a large profile so I am quite pleased with the results so far.

Total arrow weight is 400 gr. Even though these are light arrows, I don' t think I will have penetration problems using these heads as they are razor sharp and very durable and best of all cut on contact.

I used Gold tip XT' s for a couple of years and loved them. Last year I tried the Camo XT' s and they shot great as well. The only problem I have is that I use the Easten Diamond vanes and the quick glue that comes with them for quick assembly and striping off the old vanes without damaging the camo finish was very difficult. I ruined a couple of the arrows. I shoot alot and need to re-fletch quite often so this year I went back to the Gold Tip XT' S with the regular finish. The ones I used to use have been fletched several times with no problems.....

I used these arrows for a couple of years before I switched to the Blackhawk. The GT' s are good arrows but I found that I had to go to the 7595 to get good arrow flight. I was shooting #70, 28" arrow with 100 grain tip. The 5575 would not shoot broadheads for me. My brother in law shoots about #72, 30" arrow with 125 grain tip and uses the 5575 with no problem. That stumped me.

Good Luck

I sell a lot of Gold Tips & the 75/95 is the most popular for hunting by far. Right now I' m thinking of finding some clear wraps or even making some with tape for the camos so the refletching problem won' t come up. Can' t see why clear tape won' t work.

IMO the Gold Tips are by far the best all carbon arrow out there.
They are a tough arrow and can take a beating.
For hunting I use the 5575xt' s and for 3d I use 3555xt' s.
Thats out of a 60# bow 28" draw lenght and 25.5" arrow lenght.
Since I have been using the Magnocks spine is no longer an issue.
