Rest for Allegiance

Hi All. New guy here. I am new to the world of archery. I have a few good friends that are really helping me out but I would like a little moe input. I have a w/b on my bow now and was thinking of going to a drop away. Any suggestions? Was leaning towards a Muzzy Zero Effect. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the sport!

I've just become a convert to the Limb Driver rest by Vapor Trail. I like the underlying concept of keeping the arrow supported as long as possible (all but the last 6 or so inches, if it gets set up right).

Greg / MO did a fantastic write up on the Muzzy Zero, he like I and others would also recommend the Limbdriver, I have it on several bows. I do however also have the TT Pronghorn on my Ally, it's been flawless. Lots of great choices and a great time to be getting into archery. Welcome.

I had Limb Drivers on my last 2 Allegiances. As far as Dropaway rests go they are pretty much at the top of the heap. If Full containment is your thing the Hostage Pro should be available later this month.

QAD also makes a good rest. Very simple to set up and holds the arrow in a ready postion until you draw so there is no worry of the arrow accidently falling off the rest.

Sounds like the Limb Driver just might be the way to go. I also think my local little backwoods bow shop just might have them on his rack, good part about that is I won't have to wait to get it in the mail. Thanks for all the help guys, I look forward to chatting with you guys on other topics.

Here's the review of the Zero Effect Rob alluded to... http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1687790&mpage=1&key=muzzy%2czero %2ceffect&#1687790

I'm actually ordering another Allegiance this year just so I can use my favorite rest on it...Well, not JUST... but it is one of the reasons! :)

Gee, thanks Greg. Makes the decision just a bit harder. That was an awesome review. A buddy of mine has a Muzzy on an old Stalker so maybe I will give him a shout and see what he says. All good info from you guys, Thanks a bunch!!! Now I just need to make a decision. 1 question though, with the speeds these boys are putting out, Is there any problems with fletchings hitting the rest? Maybe a stupid question but i was wondering.

I am the proud new owner of a LIMB DRIVER and althought I didn't get much of a chance to shoot with it today I love it so far. Need to adjust sights a bit but other than that no worries. And, I fletched my first arrows today also, pretty FLORIDA COLORS hehe. Anyway thanks guys a bunch.

I've used the Muzzy on a couple of my BowTech's and now have switched to the Qad Ultra Pro series for my allegiance . Both these rest's work awsome . I don't know much about the Limb driver ,so i can't comment on it ,but I will say the first 2 rest's I've mentioned will work great.

Hey guys just wanted to let you know I shot my first 3-D with my new Limb Driver (second 3-D all together, 1st one was with a w/b). 30 targets total and shot a 301, averaged 10's and alot of that was due to the Limb Driver. Thanks again guys for all your help. This archery stuff is awesome!! Days like today make all the days thatI have shot bad like they never even happened.

Congratulations on your round and on the purchase of a Limb Driver! I have one on my Vectrix and LOVE it. The only improvement I could imagine on the rest would be the micro adjustability. In fact, I recently got a Black Ice and had a different rest put on it (one that was micro adjustable). After a couple of weeks I pulled that rest off and ordered another Limb Driver! Simple, dependable, effective - Limb Driver, yeah buddy!
