Mission archery?

The other day I stopped by an outfitter and they had a line of mission bows. They look almost the same as the matthews. The bows looked and felt great but I did not have the time to shoot any of the bows. Has anyone shot this make of bow or heard anything about the company.

Mathews is the maker of Mission bows. They started a few years back in hope to target the archery hunters who are on a tighter budget. I have shot alot of there bows, extremely nice and similar to Mathews itself. You cant go wrong with one of them, I meen they are made by Mathews. I'm thinking of purchasing on myself for my backup bow.

I was at a dealer the other day and shot the new Mission Journey. It was a really nice bow. The shop had a lot of the top name bows (Mathews, Bowtechs, Diamonds, and Bears). I felt that the Mission Journey compared with any of those other bows, and had an even better price (retail for $599). The shop said it was one of the best bows for the money, and that they were almost an exact copy of the Mathews Switchback XT, except with a cable slide instead of the roller slide. I'm seriously debating it, however, I usually prefer a little longeraxle bow. ButI think it felt like a great bow.

Hoyt has a similar line of bows called Reflex. Great bows. Hard to justify the additional $200 or so for the comparable Hoyt or Mathews.

RE: Mission archery?

I shot the Mission Journey, mathews S2 and DXT side by side in a shop a couple weeks ago.

For what it is worth the S2 (for me) felt the best of the 3, followed by the DXT then the Journey, the DXT feeling about the same except the DXT felt a bit faster and it was a lot lighter.

Now the Journey compared to my current bow (Hoyt magnetec) it would be a no brainer, but compared to the Mathews offerings it (for me, once again) wasn't quite in the same league.

Now for whoever said this is basically a switchback XT w/o the roller, well I just went to the Mission website and they now have a bow called the Buckmaster which looks just like the Journey except instead of the sliding cable guard it has a roller.......no price though......
