Bowtech/Diamond grip differences from Hoyt
 

I'm a Hoyt shooter, and I've had nothing but good things to say about the brand. However, I am not one of the hard headed brand followers that won't consider anything else.

I'm looking at some of the higher-end bow set ups. I got to shoot the katera, and it's XL version, as well as the Vulcan, and Vectrix. Nice bows.

I have held the Diamond Marquis, but haven't been able to shoot one yet. They seem light, and nicely made, but for some reason the grip just does not fit well to my hand, unlike the hoyts. It feels awkward at the top and bottom portions.

I've not had the chance to get up close and personal with the bowtech line as of late, because the local dealers are a bit of a drive, and the shop hours aren't conducive to me getting there without clearing a saturday afternoon off the calendar.

Do the bowtech bows use similar designed grips?

The Airbornes and General are very close to the Marquis.

I'm kinda in the same boat. Nothing but the Hoyt grip really feels right to me. Even though the new General is such a great shooting bow I'm wondering if I wouldn't just get used to it over time.

Roskoe, I shot Hoyt for 10 plus years. I agree, I was very much liking the Hoyt grip. When I bought my Alli in 06, it was close but I feel the 08 line really feels like the Hoyts I was used to. Now when I go back to my Alli, it feels bigger. I love it as I've used it two seasons but I really like the feel of the General and Airborne. The Marquis feels that way too.

me too, I just sold my Hoyt tonight and I shot a General last week. What a difference! I have yet to shoot a new Hoyt or Mathews but for the price diff. I'm pretty much sold on the General. By the way what are you guys in the US paying for one? they are $799 canadian, any big price difference down there, does Cabelas or BPS carry them?

I'm with yah on this one phade. I made the switch from an Allegiance to a Vulcan recently and couldn't be happier with the stock Hoyt grip. On my allegiance I had custom side plates that really helped out alot!

That seems like that is what I would need to do for the bowtech/diamond line.

I like the stock Bowtech grips on the 07 and 08 bows. I felt like these were a big step in the right direction over the previous years. I have a Bob Lambeth grip on my Guardian and Love it. It doesn't change the grip area in my perception, but they are a touch of class;)
