Summit Stand Opinions!

Was looking at getting the Summit Ultimate Viper SS! Looking for some feedback from anyone who has one. (Pros & Cons) I seen the reviews through Cabela's but curious for some feedback here! Thanks in advance!!

Summit stands in general are excellent. They are very comfortable, stable, quiet and easy to use. The stand you are looking at is a basic viper with all the "goodies". It should prove to be and excellent stand, especially for longer sits.

i have the Viper SS, but mine didnt come with all that stuff! gun rest will most likely have to come off for bow hunting...but thats no big deal it should come off easily..

i love my Viper. easy to use, easy to pack(once you figure out your method) easy to climb with, comfortable, and i love the bar that wraps around the front. makes climbing easy(sit and climb) and makes me feel alot more secure. also makes laying your bow across the stand easy...also, i do have the front pouch that hangs from the front bar...i keep gear in there like my harness rope, tree hooks for my pack and such, calls, drink, and anything else i like to keep handy...minimizes movement and makes getting to whatever your trying to get to pretty simple...ive been known to take some long naps in my Viper...lets rephrase that...ive been known to hunt after a long day of work and sleep the entire time and wake up long after dark..lol...its that comfortable....cant go wrong with it...its a little heavier..a little bulkier...and some dont like how it packs, but with practice and finding your own packing method, its easy...ive done it in the dark 1000 times now..

LOL w/Mauser'06 description of comfort. I have the same stand, and it IS that comfortable!! Two years ago I started sitting in my stand facing the tree, instead of having the tree at my back. The seat and back rest don't reverse very easily, and ends up a bit disheveled, but I fingd it to be more comfortable, and it allows a bit more concealment using the tree as a visual block.

The viper is a very comfortable stand, easily can sit for hours without discomfort. You can buy the basic viper then buy the accessories separate and still be in it for less than the Ultimate Viper costs (if you shop around).

RE: Summit Stand Opinions!

Thanks for the responses!! I am not worried about the quality of the Summit stands as I have owned 2 in the past years! One of them I had stolen from me! I have an API right now that I bought from a buddy for $50 brand new! It is a very good stand! I seen this and was looking to see how easyit was to hook to the tree and climb especially in the dark!! I have always liked the Summit stands and want to get another one!
