fred bear lineup

I am looking at getting a new bow, and i am leaning towards fred bear, now i know that isnt everyones favorite brand, but i know alot of their bows are very good for the price. i have a bow picked out of the 07 and 08 lineup of bows. i have heard and seen alot of other bows made by fred bear, like TRX, G2 and few others. are any of those good bows too? this will be my second bow, and the main things i am looking for is smooth draw and quietness.
thanks for the help.

Out of the 07 line up o like the Instinct the Best for the middle price range and for 08 The Done Deal or the Lights out were both nice for the price. For the price i thought the Truth 2 was a little more noisy than other bows on that price range. I used to shoot a Bear Vapor 300 that was made about the same time as the TRX (same cam System) and it shot very nice but really could have used an STS. I don't think the sts was around at that point in time. I hope this helps if you have any more questions just let me know.

^ for my price range i was thinking of getting a element, would you go with that bow, or is there a better bear at that price range you could think of? i am looking on ebay for deals and the element goes for about 200. i could go 250-275 mabey though.
thanks

O and by the way i would need a 24-25 inch DL for the bow.

RE: fred bear lineup

That DL may limit you a little but it shouldn't be a problem to find a bow you like that will fit ya. Another bow to look at in that range would be the martin bengal. It should retail for right around 300$ and can be brought down to a 25" DL with the right module. The element is a good value but in my opinion the bengal is a better one for the extra 25$. Another company you might check out is the Darton Vapor I think new they go in the same price range but i'm not for sure, what is good about these bows is Darton's time tested cam system. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I just checked ebay for the prices on the Bear Instinct and it is going in the same price range and it will go down to a 23" DL, i consider the instinct to be right up there with the bengal as for as value goes.

i will check out the instinct, bengal, and the vapor, thanks O and if you were to choose one of those three, which one would you go with, i think from what i have read the instinct.

I have shot all but the vapor and would go with the bengal myself but that is strictly personal preference. It just fit me better. Good luck with your search!!

I shot the both Element and the Instinct - nice bows, but Ilike the Code best of all. Longer ATA - more forgiving. Saw one in the classifieds over at AT recently for a real good price.

Dont rule out the parkers for short DL. they are very nice. my girl took a shot at a deer 2 days ago with a buckshot (she shot low0 but It was quiet enough that it didnt spook the deer at all. It goes about 200 FPS with a 24" draw and 100 gr heads. you can get them used or next to nothing. they have some very nice parallel limb bows with real short draw's too!!

Another vote for the Code. I bought one last year and love it. If you can find one in your price range, give it a look.
