I've been making my own since in s/s school in early 80s. Best way is to use mesh for overlayer and to tie/sew on. Use jute, burlap, and camo cloth to make shapes, leaves, and uneven forms,tie/sew on. Word od thought, you want to keep pards of it "open" to shoot bow without ripping it off and causing miss. Cleaeance is the word I was looking for. You don't havta go overboard as this'll breakup your outline nicely anyway.

I made one used it for a while then I bought one I like it alot better. If you are going to use it for hunting, I would suggest buying one made out of synthetic material. They look just as good sometimes better, and they will not hold sents like burlap will. They are alot lighter and they are easier to move in because you wont fell like a net is glued to your back. In my opinion they are the way to go.
