Arrow Rests..which should i choose.
Looking to replace the simple, but effective rest I have. I shoot aluminum arrows with broadheads. Fletch clearance has not been a problem, but I might someday switch to carbon arrows. Any thoughts on rests you guys have/have used that you recommend or don't recommend? Thanks for the help. Oh yeah this is mostly a hunting bow but do shooot a little 3D.

PA.
Last year I used the Bodoodle Pro Lite and found it to be a very good rest I never had and fletching problems on my Gold Tip carbons with a 6 degree right helical. This year I am using the Muzzy ZE and have found it to be a great rest. ![]() Aussie by birth Texan by choice |

NAP Quicktune 4000 on a Mathews FX with 2213 Easton arrows, Simms Limbsavers, and Simms Modular Stabilizer. I can't tell you how smooth and quiet my set up is. OR ACCURATE!

PAbearman, hate to sound like a broken record, but the NAP 4000 is on all my bows. I've had great success setting up and tuning them.

RE: Arrow Rests..which should i choose.
Ok Ok I'll buck the trend and say Muzzy! The zero effect is an awesome rest. I couldn't believe how much better I shot with it right out of the gate. Sturdy and effective...check them out.

I looked at the quicktune, how's the fletch clearance with carbon arrows?
Thanks all for the responses. |
RE: Arrow Rests..which should i choose.
The GKF Shootout Is the best containment rest on the market
but the very best fallaway on the market today IMO is the Mirage and at the fraction of the cost of the M rest I could buy 2.I take that back I think as soon as they hit the shelves thr GKF power drop will make most all other Fall away rests OBSOLETE! Archery addict >>>-----------> |
RE: Arrow Rests..which should i choose.
I will go against Big Papa, the Muzzy is the best. You get complete arrow containment with the MZE as opposed to the TM style forks on the Power Drop. With the Muzzy there is no chance of the arrow "Bouncing " off the rest at just the wrong time.
|
RE: Arrow Rests..which should i choose.
Yeah I agree, the powerdrop looks great. But the TM style forks are the weak spot IMHO. I would like to see something cradle the arrow better. The Zero Effect rest does exactly that. Unless you are hanging upside down, that arrow isn't going nowhere. The MUZZY ZE=Confidence! I know that when I draw back my bow, my arrow is exactly where it should be every time.

RE: Arrow Rests..which should i choose.
I have never used a drop away, so I can't comment from personal experience. But this past hunting season I did use Golden Key's Royal Hunter rest. It is similar to the Rover, but uses either TM type launchers or the horse shoe launcher. This is the quietest spring launcher hunting rest I have ever used. It makes NO sound as the launcher returns to the up position and is some kind of silky smooth.
Here is a pic of it. http://www.goldenkeyarchery.com/NewWeb/new.htm |
RE: Arrow Rests..which should i choose.
Well I hate to burst the bubble of all you muzzy fans who don't like the tm style arrow rest of the power drop, because Golden Key added a lightweight Arrow guard and new stainless V launchers that hold your
arrow in addition to the No noise cradle launchers provided Just making it better and giving you choices. All power drops are going to have this. They were able to make the switch over because they haven't shipped any out yet. ![]() |
RE: Arrow Rests..which should i choose.
This new Power Drop was the rest I wanted to shoot this season anyway,BUT the addition of the new V-arm and the arrow holder is a real bonus!!!
Now,if a fallaway isn't your cup of tea then I agree with Jim 100%. I had the chance to shoot the Royal Hunter for awhile last season and this rest is awesome!!! The "Horse Shoe" laucher is the most forgiving I've seen and fletch clearence was not a problem. I was shooting CX 3D Select 200s with a hard right helical that I had set-up for the Mirage fallaway and I never experienced any tunning problems. |
RE: Arrow Rests..which should i choose.
Well, I am having trouble deciding which arrow rest to choose. I have been using a bo-doodle, but want to use a drop away rest. They make sense. So, has anyone tried the scout mountain rest?
I am leaning towards the NAP 4000, but it sounds like the Muzzy rest is good also. HELP!!! |
RE: Arrow Rests..which should i choose.
hi da bears if you want to stick with a bo doodle they have a new drop away rest,i thinks it' s called " game dropper" i never used one but theres pictures of it on there website. i use a bo doodle conquest 2 and i' m thinking of switching to it.

Once you go Muzzy...you' ll never look back. If you do look back you will see the comptetion trying to catch up! Good Luck

RE: Arrow Rests..which should i choose.
I am having excellent results from my new Mirage. It was easy to set up and has " arrow capture" much like the Muzzy. Unlike the muzzy, the mirage seems to be a more compact unit.
I have shot both the MZE and the mirage. The Muzzy slide killed a WC string in about a month, otherwise, it is a good rest, but I am in love with my mirage. My wife' s bow has a Quiktune 2000 on it and she likes it. I had no prob. with the cable getting in the way of arrow clearance like some have had. It looks like an easy fix if you do have cable contact. Someone on the board modified theirs with a cord like a TT or Mirage would have. |
RE: Arrow Rests..which should i choose.
