Bowhunter looking for new binoculars.
I am looking for new binoculars for around $100. What would be the best I can get, or what do you guys use? Field of view , power, ect.
Thanks |
RE: Bowhunter looking for new binoculars.
Leupold makes a compact set.....8x25 I believe, that are right at a hundred bucks. I looked at them the other day, they aren't bad.
Nikon Realtree Roadtrips 8x25 are around 70 bucks...they are ok. I will say though, good glass is worth it's weight in gold. |
RE: Bowhunter looking for new binoculars.
i just bought a set of nikon 8x40 Action series in RealTree... nice nocs for a reasonable price...

$100 ??? If you can, spend about $250 and get Nkion Monarchs 8x42. Good glass as someone else said is worth the money.
If you can't, the Nikon Actions are pretty good! |
RE: Bowhunter looking for new binoculars.
I got the Red Head Epic in 8x42 for about $120 on sale. They regularly put these on sale.
I think regular price they are closer to $200.00. They are not the best, but they are the best at $120.00. :D |
RE: Bowhunter looking for new binoculars.
I don't think you can get decent binos for $100. Nikon is your best value. Monarch ATB 10X42 for western hunting.

RE: Bowhunter looking for new binoculars.
i have a set of 7x nikon action binocs...
they are somewhat big and heavy, but i get away with using them in the treestand for deer and in the fields shooting groundhogs...i gave up weight and size for the bigger lenses and FOV...gets me on the target quicker...id like to find a smaller set for bowhunting sometime soon...but its going to be hard to find a FOV i can live with... the actions are IMO nice binocs...everyone that looks through them loves them. no eye strain(i spend HOURS a day in the groundhog fields in the summer looking through them...) and are clear practically clear to the edges...i like them...but would like them better as a set to keep in the truck and for groundhog hunting...they kill my neck when walking and are just kinda big...thats my only complaint...but for the money, i dont think you can find much better.. |
RE: Bowhunter looking for new binoculars.
I'd save the $$ to buy the Nikon Monarch 8 or 10x42. Worth the money. You won't be sorry in the long run.

Brunton Eterna's are good but run 200 on up. I got some alpen binocs off ebay 10x42 for 75 bucks new and they are actually pretty nice. RE: Bowhunter looking for new binoculars.
I agree with the others and save for the Nikon Monarchs ATB. I have the 10x42 and they are great. I don't enter the woods without them.
