Has anyone ever used the API grandstand G-1 packable ladderstand. It was only sold for 2006. I was able to pick up two today for 169. They generally sell for 250. They are only 6 ft tall. I would think they were better than a blind due to their "blind spots". Any info would be appreciated. Pros/cons.

I can see where being 6 feet off the ground could eliminate blind spots - for the deer. How the hell do you stay hidden with such a short ladder stand? It sounds like you'd stick out like a sore thumb.

plenty of deer have been killed in low rider tree stands. i use to love to hunt over briar thickets. the sea of briars i hinted were about 4-5 foot high. the deer trails through the thickets only required a low height stand . different tools for different uses.

I have a API Packmaster, which is similar to yours but 15' tall. Good quality, solid, quiet, already shot one out of this year.
