Release?
I shoot a 4 year old Hoyt HavocTec and am currently shooting w/ a wrist band release but have heard really good things about releases that you hold in your hand. Do you recommend me getting one and if so, what's a good one to get?

RE: Release?
Wrist strap releases are very popular as well as convenient for Hunting. They do vary widely in their Quality, trigger feel, etc. The Carter 2 shot is the best I've tried.:D

RE: Release?
Don't be afraid to just jump in and try a different release. Most folks who have shot for awhile have a regular collection of them.

RE: Release?
I shoot a wrist band release and dont like having it stuck to my hand the whole time in the stand because I am always hitting it on things and making noise. The only thing that has made me not switch to a hand held release is that I have heard its really hard on your fingers and hurts a little to pull the hand helds.

RE: Release?
There is no pain in pulling a hand release. At least none I've tried. I shoot the Tru fire 3d camo hunter. Things I like best about it, leave hands free to do things and not worry about clanking, and you can clip it to the string in your stand and put your hand in your pocket and not have to worry about dinking around getting hooked in.

RE: Release?
Try going to your local range or proshop and see if they have some they'll let you try. They're a little different to get used to but when used properly they can make you a lot better shooter.
