RE: Hellrazor vs. G5 Montec????
Sorry for the ignorance, but why buy a broadhead that you have to sharpen?

RE: Hellrazor vs. G5 Montec????
Question back at you, PA....do you throw away an $8- $10broadhead after shooting it into foam, a deer, or the dirt? If not, then it will need to be sharpened. They don't stay sharp if you use them.

RE: Hellrazor vs. G5 Montec????
Do the Montecs and Hellrazors fly the same? I bought a pack of the G5 pre-season heads to see how they fly. If they shoot well I was considering buying the Hellrazors because of the sharpness.

They shoot the same for me out ofmy Hoyt Protec, Reflex Growler, and my son's Bear Element.

RE: Hellrazor vs. G5 Montec????
Gents,
I recently shared an email with Brian Anderson from G5. I told him about an extra step I perform on my 85 and 100 gr Montecs. After using the 1200 grit G5 stone, I use a piece of 1500A grit autobody detailing sandpapper and lay it flat on a table or bench. Take the broadhead and perform the side to side strokes like on the G5 stone on the 1500 paper. Rotate the head until all three blades are done. 15-20 strokes per blade is good. Now, feel the edge!!! Much sharper than the 1200. Brian liked the idea very much and told me that G5 would try to post that method on their website. Try it, it works... good luck to all you Montec shooters. |
RE: Hellrazor vs. G5 Montec????
I have shot 2 deer this year with the same Montec broadhead. Both deer went under 50 yards. G5 makes a flat diomond stone that can hone the montec sharper than you can buy them. I amsoldwith Montecs!
