Gold Tips

Why are Gold Tip arrows so popular? And, if you were to buy some which ones would you get?

They're a light arrow at a reasonable price and are very durable.

I use the XT hunters. The Pro hunters supposedly have a better tolerance .001+/- compared to .003+/-. However, even the tech rep from GT told me that he uses the XT's and cuts both ends to correct straightness issues. The $30more for the Prosjust isn't worth it to me andI can get almost every arrow to spin properly. So far I've only had 1 bad 1 out of 18 this year that I've made.

They are very tough and good all around arrows.

I had a full robin hood that tunneled into the hit arrow, but the penetrating arrow was unharmed.

I've also made some bad shots that went through fences and all kinds of stuff and they didn't
crack or chip.

Not best price, but a fair value for what you get, especially the Hunter XTs.

I heard their new jacketed carbons are just as good, but cheaper than the other brands.
I'm going to look into those next year.

Just one of those things, your getting avery good quality arrow at a very reasonable price. You could go to a maxima hunter for about double the money but is it really worth it?

I also shoot XT Hunter's and I love em. Very straight (so far), real durable, and overall no complaints. I wouldn't hesitate to buy up another batch.

Good quality arrow that are very tough and rugged. I shoot the Gold Tip XT and love them. My local bow shop stopped selling them, so I am going to have to start getting them from cabelas or the internet.

I agree with all of the above. I use the 5575's and have found them to be durable and fairly priced.

Well, sounds good enough to me, looks like I'm gonna have to try them out.;)

Price compaired to others of equal specs.

I would'nt use them again for various reasons. Try the beman ics hunter *elites*. Much smoother, stiffer and the cost is better.

I have tried them, but compared to the Team Realtree's Im shooting now, they are of lesser qaulity in my opinion.

The extra benefit of the GT's is that you can buy nock pins, or even use Easton ACC nocks, to protect the tail end. I use the nock pins on my arrows and have not destroyed one yet. The metal isdinged up and I would have had to buy at least a few dozen arrows so far this year if not for the nock pins.

Yes, I have heard they are good for protecting from Robin Hoods.

I'm shooting the XT Hunters right now. Seems like pretty good bang for the buck...

I have ACC's, Bemans and XT 5575's and seem to keep grabbing the Xt's. They just seem to work well for me. Shot a bear thursday with 3 year old XT5575. Complete pass through and can reuse the arrow no problem.

That sounds like awesome performance.

Here's 2 of my XT's at 50 yds. If I were a better shot they'd be dead center. This is why I see no reason to spend more for the Pros or even other arrows. I've done all sorts of things to get the 7595's to spine right because of liking these arrows. You can see the nock pins and pin nocks on the end with my awesome Onestringer Pittsburgh Steeler wraps.

myawesome Onestringer Pittsburgh Steeler wraps.

The steelers are bad luck that's why your arrows aren't dead center!!:D:D

You would do better with Green Bay!!;)LOL

RE: Gold Tips

If I used Green Bay all the arrows would hit the wrong target. ;)haha

smky,

I had mine made by onestringer. Mindy does first class custom work and she will work with you to get a design that you like. Wraps were only $8/dz including shipping compared to $12 for plain white ones everywhere else. can do just about anything. he's a link to her thread in the Archery Gear Forum. She also has a website.

I just bought some gold tip expedtion hunters and they have done relly good shooting tight groups and they are the cheapest of the kinds of arrows.

Icedragon 08-23-2007 12:04 PM

RE: Gold Tips

I have the expedition hunters as well. Going on my third year with them, never broken one at all. Very tight groups, will definatly buy again, although next time I may get the XTs
