installing string leeches

I have a new pack of string leaches and i dont know how to install them , if i get a string seperator will that be ok or will i have to put it on a bow press to release tension off the string, I have not messed with the technical part of bow hunting much, any help is appreciated. I dont want to pay someone to do somethin i can do.

RE: installing string leeches

Well, Ideally you want to put it in a bow press and release tension on the string then seperate it equally and intall the leeches with the string between those nodes on either side and have the "wings" of the leeches out. There are problems with the seperators and that that can cuts strands of the strings and weaken it. Plus they are hard to get an equal seperation of the string.
