Welcome to HNI!

The Fred Bear Instinct is a very good bow. I think the most important advice I can give you is this:

Shoot all the bows you can and choose the one that fits you and only you best.

Before I chose the SBXT, I shot probably 20 or so bows. I thought I liked the Hoyt Trykon (the first bow I shot) and through many months of testing out different bows at different shops....I found that I liked the SBXT a bit better. Much smoother draw, whisper quiet and no hand shock what so ever.

Best of Luck and Welcome to the Forums!

Definitely shoot as many as you can. I did that, and went home with the Instinct. It hammers nails, and I can't say enough good things about it.

Definately shoot different bows and I advise you to take a look at the reflex line I think they are in the same price range as the instinct, maybe a wee bit more.
