Bowtech Tomkat VS Diamond Liberty
What do yall think I should go for between the Bowtech Tomkat and the Diamond Liberty (ignoring the difference in price and packages)? I'm looking for a good all around bow for hunting that I won't outgrow anytime soon. Why? Thanks!

RE: Bowtech Tomkat VS Diamond Liberty
well, same here, I love the tomkat allthough I changed the sight and the quiver ( quiver's too short to hold the arrows steady and the sight doesn't have a level )
besides that it's a really good quiet bow, insmooth or fast setting. |
RE: Bowtech Tomkat VS Diamond Liberty
I have shot both bows and would choose the Liberty over the Tomkat. The Liberty, at one point, was Bowtech's flagship bow. It was simply moved to the Diamond lineup because of its single cam design. Speaking of which, they redesigned that single cam again this year to make it a bit faster but just as smooth on the draw.
Two thumbs up for either bow but the Diamond would be my choice. |
RE: Bowtech Tomkat VS Diamond Liberty
The biggest difference you have to decide on is if you want binary cam (Tomcat) or Single cam (Liberty). Bowtech went to binary on their pro shop bows for a reason. They think the technology is better. However, they still offer the single cams thru Diamond.
That's pretty much the only difference between Bowtech models and theirRetail Store models (Diamond). |
RE: Bowtech Tomkat VS Diamond Liberty
What do yall think about a preowned Mathews Legacy? Is that better than a new Tomkat or Liberty?

RE: Bowtech Tomkat VS Diamond Liberty
I have a 07' TomKat. I can't think of any bad thing to say about it. For the draw length to be set at only 27'' (i have short arms) its pretty darn fast. I have the specs at home where I chronoed it, but I am at work now and can't remember them.I can remember that it wasn't but a tad under 300fps. And that was at67lbs and not 70lbs.
For those of you who already have a TomKat..take the factory stabilizer off and put a SIMSS-Coil and you will think you are shooting one of the high end BowTech's. The TomKat is the first bow I've owned and after only a few weeks I was robin hooding arrows. I have now gotten to the point where I don't "group shoot" anymore b/c arrows are too expensive when you bust one about every other shot. I will get on here later tomorrow and post some pics of it from my other user name (strutnBPS). In all. I am VERY impressed and pleased with the bow. I guess in the next year or so I will probably jump on the band wagon and buy one of the higher end bowtech's. But one thing is for sure.. For right now I am a BowTech fan. |
