schaffer drop away

has anyone every used a schaffer drop away rest? I just ordered a new hoyt vulcan and now trying to decide which drop away to put on. The guy at the bow shop suggested the schaffer. I was also looking into the qad ultra rest. Or if any has any other suggestions that would be great.

I have used both a Schaffer and a QAD Pro rest. First for the Schaffer: mine had the older style prongs. Very easy to set up and tune, easy to adjust and built like a tank, very accurate and solid rest. The newer style prongs should work better at containing the arrow for hunting purposes, though I've heard its a little tougher to gain fletching clearance. Great rest overall and I may get another in the future.

The QAD Pro rest worked well though I had an issue with bounceback, but I have heard the new QAD LD rest has fixed that. Great containment feature, easy to adjust and solid.

FYI, I shoot neither at this time but I believe either rests are top notch.

I like mine on my Guardian. I had one on my Trykon last year and it was a bit tough to get vane clearance, but no problem on my Bowtech.

i just bought one about a week ago and love it. with the new style prongs at full draw i can tip it side to side and it doesn't fall off. a tried a qad ultra rest but could not get fletching clearence with it.

all in all it is a very good rest and worth the money IMO.

I had one onmy Switchback XT and really liked it, they are a very solid rest. You cant go wrong with a Shaffer. I did have some clearence issues at first but the shop fixed that.
