SIMS Cable Guard Dampener?

Im thinking of maybe getting one of these put on. Not the older style, but the newer one. Anyone have luck with these making a difference? Can i put one on myself or do I have to have a shop do it for me?And what about the string leaches. Right now I use the Spider Speed Silencers that claim they increase speed while reducing noise. I dont think it did any of the two. Thanks for any help.

String leeches work well for taking some twang out of your string, but I don't know if they'll actually do anything for speed. I've never chrono'd that variable. Maybe someone else can help you there.

Never used the new style cable dampener, but it looks just like the modules and they work well. As for string leaches, the new style that is straight. I think they are the ultras or the super string leaches. I used those on my last set up and had great results, removed all twang from string with minimal if any speed loss.

Ya i didnt think the leaches increases speed, but the Spider Speed Silencers say they do and i couldnt notice a bit of difference. And as for the "silencer" part, it didnt do anything either. Im not really worried about speed anyways. Ive always believed speed is overrated and want to reduce as much noice as I possibly can, and from what Ive heard the leaches do that. Thanks for the help.

If your really worried about noise, might want to thing about an STS or CSS. It will help with noise and vibration and you might not need much for silencers on your string, speed may be overated but if you can get it while still having a quiet setup there isnt anything wrong with it.

my pse firestorm isnt loud by any means, but what little sound there is id like to try and make it quieter.

Yeah if you want it even quieter, go for a string suppressor, the leaches will quiet it down allot but the suppressor will deffinetly make a noticable difference as well.

Where can I find string suppressors at? I cant really picture even what they look like. Ill look around and see what I can see.

You can get one from MeanV2, he makes very nice ones at very affordable prices. Just have to send him the measurement from the back stabilizer bushing the string and he can custom make one for your bow. Think they start at 34 bucks delivered.

I put the sims cable module on my vulcan, I didn't notice any benefit besides looking cool, On my trykon I had a little bit of string buzz after the shot so i put some cat whiskers above and below my string shox and it killed the buzz and ate 12 fps off of my speed, we pulled them out and they weighed 69 grs. Then we pulled out the stringshoxs and it didn't any difference.I have put them both back in recently to keep the buzz down, there seems to always be a sacrafice with bows nowdays.
