RE: Slick Tricks
A friend of mine shoots the Slick Tricks and likes them. I was looking at some Muzzy MX-4's the other day and there doesn't appear to be much difference between it and the Slick Trick.AmI missingsomething here?

RE: Slick Tricks
You might be missing that Slick Trick started the whole "super short" revolution when they were introduced at the Archery Manufacturers Organization, AMO or what is now the ATA, in 2000.
All the other manufacturers tested and saw they were outperforming the old best sellers, so later everybody from Rocket with the Ultimate Steel to NAP with the Nitron to Muzzy with the MX4 have introduced heads to try to compete with Tricks. But Tricks still have the advantage with their patented design of a tough precision 1 piece steel ferrule, 4 Lutz Solingen Germany razor sharp thick .035 blades, superior aerodynamics and Alcatraz Bladelock. Simply put, no other head has the total package of accuracy, strength, penetration, hemorrhage and reliability of a Trick. And thats why you see all the other companies stilltrying to make a head to compete. |
RE: Slick Tricks
I have a buddy in camp that shoots them and loves them. I don't shoot them but I can attest to the blood trail that they can leave. I don't shoot them but can attest that they are a solid broadhead and they won't disappoint.
The only negative I can say about them is last year when they had some issues with fulfilling orders last year when they moved to the new blades that were manufactured in Germany. |
RE: Slick Tricks
Looking at the Slick Trick next to the Muzzy MX-4, I'm having trouble visualizing how the Muzzy is going to not fly as well or penetrate and cut as well as the Slick Trick. Granted . . . . the Slick Trick was there first. But Muzzy is a mainstream company . . . you can get their stuff from Cabela's . . . and they take credit cards.

RE: Slick Tricks
If you really do look at the Trick and the Muzzy, it should be apparent which is more aerodynamic with less surface area which will also penetrate better.
And this year Slick Trick will be a mainstream company and take credit cards. As far as Cabelas, their guys have been shooting Tricks for a couple years because they do outperform, and Cabelas has wanted to carry them because of that, and will. At broadheadtests.com Tricks outperformed those heads, and every other head on the market. No need to visualize, real tests prove their performance. |
RE: Slick Tricks
There already getting out there. Gander Mountain now carries Slick Trick. I buy all my Slick Tricks and replacement blades off ebay.

RE: Slick Tricks
Thanks, Hootowl. I never actually got to look at them side-by-side. Will try to get my hands on some.
