Anybody shooting one of these bows? Any input would be appreciated.

I own a 2002 ProTec XT 2000 limbs, with CC+ cams. This is in my opinion the perfect bow. It is everything I want in a bow. It is deadly accurate, quiet, and has a decent amount of speed, for a hunting bow. I will be hanging on to this one for quite some time. It's a keeper!!

i just got a 2002 protec w/ XT2000 limbs and the command cam + also and i have had many bows come and go but this one ain't going anywhere. 29" draw 64 lb. with carbon express CXL 250 select arrows with 4" feathers cut to 28 1/2" and its shooting 278 FPS. but the amazing thing to me is that you don't have to work to shoot it, my groups shrunk from 2" at 20 yards to arrows touching in one session of shooting this dream bow. have a golden key infiniti rest, MBG 4 pin w/ 6" extension, and a 12" super stix stabilizer w/ sidebar and back weight. it's a dream for supreme accuracy.....

TECbownut , whats the difference between the command cam plus and the original command cam? I picked up a 2001 ultratec for a good price with the command cams (I dont believe their cc+). When did the command cam plus come out? The only thing my command cams might lack is a solid wall. I love the draw length adjustments. If the command cam plus has the same draw length adjustments with a solid back wall , I might have to see if I can order some.

BOWFANATIC, I have several friends that shoot command cams exclusively. They claim that the 2002 CC`s do indeed have a very solid wall compared to the 2001 models.

bowfanatic, if i remember right the old command cam was only availiable in 75% let off and the command cam + is availiable in 75% or 65% let off. yes there is a little harder wall on the "+" but it doesn't feel as solid as some one cams i have shot. i like the command cam + for the smooth draw and the adjustablity to it. i have owned 3 bows with the command cams and once the strings were broke in and the cams rotation retuned they never went out of time again and i mean never..... i was very sad to see the command cam go as i'm sure others as well. i really don't see the need to change the cams the ones you have there already are great. the cams you have came out i believe in 98 or 99 and the plus came out in 02, and they have the same adjustability. good luck.....

I have a 2002 Protec with the slightly longer limbs (XT3000). The XT2000 limbs will be faster than mine.

My target and 3D competitions have been done with a recurve for several years. I always felt that stickbows were more fun when shooting at targets. My hunting has been done with compounds since around 1984.

My take on the Hoyt Protec: I will probably shoot 3D and winter league with my Protec this year. It is as perfect a bow as I have ever shot ... really! If you shoot one, you will buy one ... really!
