New bow ????

Ive been bow hunting now for abought 18 years or so .
I still use my originalmartin lynx compound bow for hunting .
Our bow season is only a couple weeks a year so I dont use a bow more then 3 weeks a season plus for practice .
I,m shooting aluminum arrows .
I believe the let off is abought 60 % with 65 to 68 lbs of pull .
Its a good shooting bow but its not forgiving as far as being steady .
Anyways I,d like to get a new bow , problem is witch one ??
Ive kind of been eyeing the Mathews models but they are very pricey .
I want a good dependable bow set up and wood like to go to carbon arrows .
Ive noticed some stores like Di##s have sales and clearance models .
They make so many now , single cams , double cams , etc.
I,m sure any new bow would be better then mine , I,m looking for a reasonably priced bow set up for hunting deer and one that has more let off %.
Do to a slight injury a few years ago my shoulder holding strenght isnt what it use to be .
Id very much appriciate any help or comments , Good or Bad experiences .
Thanks..........

RE: New bow ????

I just got into bow hunting again after being out of the sport for about 10 years. I just recently purchased a PSE BRUTE and I love it!!!! It is a great bow and is under $600. I also looked into the Mathews switchback xt but I was not willing to pay $795 for a nekkid bow just yet! I have a 80% let off and I have my draw weight set to about 65 pounds. The PSE BRUTE is rated up to 304 fps. I hope this helps you out, and good luck hunting for a bow and in the woods ;)

Mathews bows are really not that pricey considering what you get for the $. Some ofthe Mathews knockoff brands cost even more. A bow is not the place to skimp. Go to a pro shop and shoot a Mathews ,you WILL buy one and not regret a penny you spent.

Take a look a the Bear Truth bow, very nice and less expensive than most of the high dollar bows, but with the same great features. It was a collaberation between Primos and Fred Bear Archery, I was looking at one today, very nice.

Browning Rage One--great bow for little money. It's the perfect hunting bow. I can stand up to the best with it.

RE: New bow ????

Shot a Bear compound bow and a Bowtech Diamond guide series bow today. (yesterday now, lol/ )
Any ways they were both very smooth and had good let off .
I seemed to lean more tward the Bow tech bow .
It shot a little quieter and was lighter.
It was the Tec Hunter model .
They sell the packedge ,bow, quiver, peep sight, rest and sights for $449.99.
They also have the Tech hunter Extreme, has a bigger idler wheel and cam ?
I didnt get to try it thow .
I belive there both 2006 models .
Any thoughts ??
I,l try a few more of your suggestions before I buy .
Thanks for the help ...:)

RE: New bow ????

There are many bows out there. Shoot as much bow as you can. If you like the Diamond, try shooting the Bowtech line. If you go to some of the bigger sports store, they have the 2006 model on clearance. So, for around $600-$700, you get a good bow set up. Good luck.
