mathews bow question
 

has anyone shot the mathews fx? my local dealer sells all mathews models along with other top names, and says the FX SHOOTS AS FAST AND ACCURATE as most,but costs alot less..any feedback?

I currently shoot the FX with draw of 27 1/2 and 58 lbs pull and have chroned 365 gr. gold tips at 247-248. The bow is real smooth and a pleasure to shoot at 34 inches. If you go to the 70 lb draw I believe they say the speed is 308, so equipped you should maybe get 270 fps. The cost of mine was about 220 less than some of other Mathews. If cost is a major concern you might want to look at Martins. I have shot these and they perform rreal well and just as fast as most of the others. Martin top of line is about same cost as bottom of line Mathews.

The FX has more recoil than most other bows in the Mathews line-up. Any bow is accurate if the shooter behind it can shoot it.

For th emoney the FX is a great bow. I got one when they first cam out and it works very good. I know use it as my backup bow but there is nothing wrong with it at all. it is a fast shooter & it will put the arrows where you aim. It does have a bit more shock than my Q2XL does but use a little heavier arrow or add a good stabilizer like the ECO or Tranquilizer and you are set. limbsavers do work a little on it too.

I am into my second season with my FX and I don't believe there is any better. But then I'm prejudiced. It shoots fast and is a TACK DRIVER. I shoot 67# @ 28" a grizley fiber optic pins, an NAP Quicktune 4000 fall away rest and I use a True File X-Caliper Release.
I have shot two mulies with it and both were passthroughs.

Although mine has always been very quiet, this year I added Sims Limb Savers and the Sims Modular Stabilizer. It barely whispers now.

In my honest opinion it is the FINEST bow on the market. Others no doubt are great but my FX has em beat!

My wife & I both shoot Mathews Bows & personally we feel like they are the best bows on the Market. We shoot the FX & the Ultra Max & wouldn't trade 'em. You won't go wrong with the FX.

Nothing wrong with fx. I like my Legacy. Matthews are good bows.

I should have added earlier, I do not grip my bow rather I use a wrist sling . . . my bow does not jump and there is NO shock at all.

These are good bows, my daughter (13) shoots one and it works very well for her. I also have in my family 2 - Legacys, 1 - Q2XL, and 1 - Ultra Max. We shoot 3-d and hunt, I can guarantee you won't go wrong and the Mathews holds its value as well as any other bow.
