Fishstix,

Which one did you buy? And why?

I've got a new budget now (quit smoking) and am looking into some bows. Right now I like the Parker Extreme Hunter Mag, and the FB Element. Element is more in my price range.

My local dealer sells both. He personally LOVES Parker bows. But, he really like these new Bears too. He generally offers the higher end Bears, and the lower end Parkers. According to him, the Element is every bit as good as the Parker Ext. Huntr Mag for about $100 less. He can have me ready to shoot an Element for $350 OTD, Parker about $460 OTD.

I looked at a Reflex Highlander, and don't really get all the hype is gets. I like the Element better.

I shot a 2006 Code today and a 2007 Truth (the new Fred Bear/Primos bow). They're both pretty darn awesome. My shop is selling the Truth for $550 and the 2006 Code is $450. I think I'm going to buy the Code. I'm really impressed with the both of them.

I'm assuming that's bow blank? Or does your bow shop have pretty good packages? I might have to order one through your guy ;)

Yes...that's just the bow...not a package.

With the bear yes the cost is less but overtime you find yourself not wanting to switch. Also remember the Great Fred Bear wanted everyone to enjoy a bow. So his thought have passed on with the product. Waiting for the truth to be stocked were I live I want one. Have three Bear Bows now a old recurve a Bear Sportsman and a Bear TRX400. Maybe I am a little for the Bear bows.

Thanks for the votes of confidence! If I get a chance to shoot the element or instinct and remotely like one, I'll probably buy it! The question now becomes whisker bisquit or drop rest and what type of site to get.

If you have a wally world close by look at what they have I have bought some back up equipment. Sights pins etc.

well guys, i couldnt wait til xmas break to shoot em, and ended up pickin up an Element, and i LOVE it!, its fast, smooth, quiet, and forgiving. I also shot the reflex super slam and another reflex, but i like the Element the best, it was shorter, and seemed like a perfect buy. The shop owner just marked down the '06 bows and i got the bare bow for $300 and it cost me $470 after i got it all decked out. It's a very appealing bow!
