Release problem

I've been shooting a Cobra green mamba caliper and have it pull through the string loop 3 times now and it frays the loop. I have been looking at the Carter quickie 2. It just has a hook instead of a caliper. Is the hook any better or worse than a caliper for hunting and arrow flight. Any info will be good because there is no where that i can try any products at where I live.

RE: Release problem

For a loop shooter they are a lot easier to get hooked up. I think a main advantage to them is that it is a more simple sear system than a two jaw caliper style. That may allow for cheaper manufacturing costs or it allows for a higher quality sear system at the same price. If I shot a trigger style release it would be the hook rather than jaw type.

Thanks for the reply. I think I will go for the Carter quickie 2. It puts the string away from the face which is what i think i kneed cause i hunt when it is pretty cold. do you have any other suggestions on good hook releases?

I'm pretty partial to Carters but I was impressed by the Scott Rhino which, I think, has been upgraded to the Silverhorn.
