Summit deluxe padded backpack straps

To all those who have a Summit treestand....

Do yourself a big favor and ditch the basic, standard, backpack straps. Get the new deluxe padded backpack straps! Wow, what a world of difference!

See.... here's the original straps on the bottom platform of a Summit Viper(they come standard on a Summit stand):

They are fine and work great, and even though a summit stand is only like 21, 23, something pounds, after about a 1/2 mile, you can feel the unpadded straps starting to dig into your shoulders.

Here's the new Deluxe padded backpack straps, and man, do they make a difference!! [8D]

I felt like I could go on a 10 mile hike with my Summit Viper X4 with thenew padded backpack straps. No problems, no worries, and best of all, no bothersome"digging in" pressure from the unpadded straps!

Way to go, Summit!!!

Good to know, yeah I would like to get a pair! I have heard from everyone I know that owns a Summit that they are awsome.

Kevin,

The padded straps were $24 bucks on Summit's website. They aren't exactly like a rifle sling, as they are sewn together at the top and would resemble an upside-down "V" if you held them out.

The top loop goes around the front foot brace of the bottom platform, and then the whole strap system itself goes through the loop (as seen in the top link photo). Then to do the same with each separate cinch strap on the corners of the rear brace, and then hook each one up to the cinch buckle thing on the ends of the padded straps.

To make my pack straps more comfotable, I always get the fleece seat belt covers from any auto store.

Great to have these, but I used a pair from Sportsman Warehouse for $10.

Got a pair last year. They are definitely more comfortable than the 'stock' straps.

Thanks,
