Fred Bear Bows
 

Does anyone have experience with, or opinion on the newer Fred Bear bows (Element , Code etc.)?

I have drawn a Code before, it was pretty smooth. I was impressed.

From what I hear they are getting some good press and reviews.

I would try and shoot one along with a bunch of different bows if you are in the market to buy a new one.

The code is one sweet shooting bow. I would shoot it right along with the Mathews, Hoyts, and Bowtechs and not think twice about it. Shoot it and a switchback XT side by side at the same draw length, poundage, and arrow and you would be very hard pressed to find that the XT is worth the extra $200 - $250.

I sell both and the code is by far one of the best values in a high end bow you will find.

i own an instict. here's a short, almost useless review of it that i've posted before.....


i know this isn't a super in depth review, but take it for what it's worth.
i've owned the instinct for 4 months now. i have had zero problems with it and have probably put about 800 arrows through it. i know that isn't a whole lot but i shoot as much as i can.
i have a tru-glo extreme sight, a quicktune 2000 rest, a carolina archery lore stabilizer, alpine 3 arrow quiver and alphashox instead of the regular limbsavers (big difference). i use a tru ball rackmaster release and gold tip xt hunter arrows.
i find this bow to be quiet, fast and accurate. it's not as quiet as the bowtech or mathews, but what do you expect for half the price? i honestly love it. i love this bow more and more every time i shoot it. i use words like "pocket rocket"(haha) and "firecracker" to describe it. at 60 yards i can consistently shoot 5" groups, with the groups shrinking as the distance drop. at 60 yards the arrows have some drop, but not much. i've never chronographed it...i know, what a sin.

all in all, i would rather be surprised by a $400 bow than just be satisfied with an $800 one.

I have not shot any, but I have talked to someone who has bought and shot the Element package from Bass pro.

The specs in the catalogue are right on with other much more expensive bows, for a fraction of the cost. He says he loves the bow. That it is pretty quiet, and it comes in around 250+ AMO speed wise, set up for his hunting rig. It is smooth and he is very happy with it, especially for the money he saved , and was able to use for other things. He bought arrows, a release, and a rangefinder with the extra money.

From the way he talks, I believe he is really pleased with it. One of these days I am going to have to go shoot it and see what I think, by comparison.

i know guys that actually chose the code over the switchback but the only thing i have heard about them problem wise is that the strings werent of the highest quality.Everything else has been good and i do believe Fred Bear bows are on the up an up, they could come out with something amazing this year with the way everything else is going
