FIBER OPTIC SIGHT...SUGGESTIONS

I'm currently shooting a Trophy Ridge Nitro Xtreme sight and while I like the sight itself, I'm not at all happy with the fiber optics of it. Last night, about 15 minutes after sunset...15 minutes of legal shooting light left, I heard rustling that I was sure was more than a squirrel. It was a little dark for bare pins, so I busted one of my NITRO glow sticks and put it in the sight to light up my pins. NOTHING happened. Turns out that it was a pair of fox that came trotting by my stand, but if it had been a deer there would not have been a shot.
Any suggestions on a better fiber optic sight would be appreciated.

Any sword sight with the ligh feature will light up like the sun in low light conditions.

My Montana Black Gold Dusk Devil is well named. This thing is BRIGHT. My legal shooting hours are 1/2 hr before to 1/2 hr after and I don't need any artificial light. I can still see my pins just fine.

Thanks guys. Campo, I'm not sure what you're talking about. Do you have a link to where I can view what you're recommending?

I've been very impressed with the Tru Glo sights as well, and some come with a light for a real reasonable price.

Why don't you just upgrade the fiber on your sight. It's simple to do and a lot cheaper than replacing your sight.

The absolute BRIGHTEST sight I've seen is the Cobra Sidewinder series. I am amazed at how little light is needed to make those babies glow. They are so bright in fact, several guys at the shop cover up some of the fibre optic to make the pin "smaller."

Upgrade the fiber? Okay, you have my attention...I'm listening. How do you go about doing that? Is there a "better" fiber that will show up better? I'm all about saving money.
Thanks

I would agree with mobowhuntr. The Cobra sight is really, really bright...it is almost too bright. I have the Trohpy Ridge Matrix sights and I bought the led light for about $15 or so from Bass Pro. It can be pitch black outisde and when I turn the light on, the pins light up really nicely. They don't light up too much to where you get a halo around the pin, but enough to see what you are aiming at. This option may be better than getting new fiber optics. Just a thought. I have also looked at those sword sights and they look really, really nice. Rick James on here on HuntingNet knows a lot about those sights and I think has some for sale (not a hundred percent sure on that).
