A quiet trigger release?
 

Does anyone have an opinion on what's a quiet wrist/trigger release?

I've been using a Tru-Fire X-Caliber style release for a number of years now. I love how it works, and I shoot great with it. But damn it's noisy! I think 40% of the noise my bow makes comes from that release.

Just wondering if anyone had suggestions for a similar, yet quieter model.

The T.R.U. Ball short-n-sweet (SNS) is very quiet. It also doesn't take away from your draw length as the trigger is even with the d-loop hook. I have several friends that have switched to this or a mongoose little goose.

I use a winn release andI also use a tru fire judge

I use a Scott Sabertooth andI think it is pretty quiet. Never really known of a release that made lots of noise though.

Thanks guys.. that's at least something to look into.

My short hunting trip this season starts this weekend, so there's no time to buy and learn a new release now anyway. I did fiddle with my old one a bit. A lot of the noise comes from trigger over travel and bottoming out slap. By sticking 3/4 of a foam expanding ear plug inside the release, behind the trigger, it quieted it down a quite a bit. Doesn't seem to be effecting function at all, I just need to shoot it a bit more first before I trust it 100%.

i shot a winn release for 10 years.... i just didn't like not having a free hand...a pain to grabs branches, tree steps , thermos etc....so i bought a tru-ball cylcone...it has a strap so i can tuck it into my sleeve so i have a free hand and ilove it
