Mathews Switchback xt or bowtech alegiance?
 

Lookin to buy a new bow next spring and have narrowed it down to two. I was lookin for a little bit of advice from some people who have shot both and would really appreciate feedback on both bows (advantages and disadvantages over the other and such).

I tried both and liked both, they are excellent bows. The Bowtech is faster and if you slow it down to the same speeds as the Switchback by using smooth modules, less draw weight or heavier arrows then it will shoot nicer also. I also prefer bows that are not draw length/cam specific. Makes the bow easier to sell when you want something new. On the other hand Mathews bows hold their value better. Bowtech also have better strings as OEM.

I cannot speak specifically of those two bows, But I have shot the matthews outback and a few of the bowtech bows. The bowtech are fast no nonsense bows, and the matthews was a bit quiter and was sliky smooth. I really enjoyed shooting the matthews for its smoothness. But it will always come down to what you are looking for in YOUR bow and how it feels to you.

You can't lose with any of your choices, they are both great bows.

Pro's of each in my opinion:

Allegiance -
faster
level nock travel
smooth/fast mods - modular DL changes
better strings

XT -
smoother
quieter
much higher resale value
a bit more brace height

If you're not buying until spring then I'd wait until the manufacturers release the 2007 bow lineups. Just my 2 cents. ;)

Their both great bows, shoot them both and decide which one is going to work for you.

here is my two cents. my friend and i bought new bows this year. hebought the switchback xt and i bought the allegiance. we both are the same draw length andat 70 pounds. we both shot at a 3d shoot tourney a month ago. i noticed that my arrows flew flatter and faster.i had a lot more penetration in the targets.

whenremoving the arrows out of the 3d target,his arrows were removing out of the 3d targetslike nothing.i needed two persons to pull my arrows out ofthe 3d targets.and oh yeah i won the tourney also. i love this bow.

the type of module i got was the fast cam. i did notice the mathew was a little quiter, but i wanted the speed due to my draw length being 27 inches.when i bought my bowi speed tested andit shot296 fps.
