What's the best "trigger forward" release?

I am looking for a new release for my Patriot. I plan to use it for huntingwith a string loop and would like to gain my draw length back if possible.
I have looked the ones in the Cabelas archery catalog but that's about it. I would appreciate any information anyone could provide on this subject.

Cabelas has the following trigger forward models:

Truball Loopmaster
Truball Short-N-Sweet SS
Truball Cpopperhead

Scott Archery Sabertooth
Scott Archery Wildcat
Scott Silverhorn

Cobra Green Mamba R1

Jim Fletcher Flathead

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Best, is there one....I went through this process myself and I did end up picking up and buying the Truball Copperhead. I'm impressed with the release and it's worked flawlessly for me. I have nothing bad to say about it but I would recommend the buckle strap over the velcro one for noise reasons...

That being said, many here have brought the Scott Wildcat to my attention...from what I understand, it's equally a very reliable release.

Thanks Rob, I was just shooting my Scott Rhino release. I guess I like the hook type jaws for string loops. It works ok (I do have issues with the trigger)but the trigger is near the tip. I would gain about 3/8" of an inch of draw lenght by changing releases.

I'd do it if I could find the right release.

Can't go wrong w/ anything from TruBall, but having said that I switched to a TruFire Hurricane Buckle Extreme. Like Rob and his, I have nothing bad to say about it. Very smooth.

Thanks. I am migrating toward the Short and Sweet by Trueball right now but I still need to go and try to shoot as many of them as I can.
I actually prefer a rod between the trigger assembley and wrist strap. The releases with the straps just seem a bit floppy to me.

i've got a truball sabretooth. its nice, and works flawlessly and is very quiet. i'm hunting with a carter 2 special this year. just can't stomach the feel of a 4 finger anymore after shooting a 2 finger bt release all year. one advantage to a carter handheld is you can hang it from your loop and leave it there. it does make noise to cock it - and if you release it just sitting there - but when you shoot it it doesn't make a sound that i can make out.

I cast my vote for the T.R.U. Ball Short-N-Sweet and the Copperhead! These releases are awesome! They ar short, light, super compact and extremely comfortably, I love 'em both. Good luck and good shootin'

I tested about a dozen releases at Cabelas last week. The tru fire Hurricane and Judge were my favorites. The truball releases were nice, but I prefered the tru fireds.

Totem, did you try the Tru-Fire Black Talon or Bearpaw? They look most like what I'm looking for right now.
Thnaks for all the input guys.
