RE: fethers or blazers?

Here's another vote for the Blazers! I have used 'em now for a couple of seasons and I can't help but be impressed. They really do shoot as good as 4" feathers but without any of the headaches that come with them! You've got to try some. Heck, they are cheap enough you can pick up a pack and fling some for yourself and see what all the talk is about!

i tried them and i quess i really don't have anything bad to say about them I just don't understand why everyone thinks they are so great!!! what do they do that other vanes don't do? it's a quimick that people have bitten on and appearantly will continue to.

Blazers work well but there isn't a plastic vane made that will control a broadhead tipped arrow better than a feather will.

End of story.

Their only draw back is that you must water proof them if you hunt in the rain. A small price to pay to all of the advantages that feathers give you over plastic vanes.
I have used just about every vane out there, and keep some arrows fletched up with some just in case we get a very long wet spell in the middle of my season. But with dry powder and a Simmons Bushmaster quiver, I don't usually have to use the vanes though. Bigbulls is absolutely correct there. I can't explain it, other than man just can't replicate or improve on what God has made in nature. My Blazer and VaneTec vaned arrows fly pretty much with my feathers, but my feathered arrows seem to have better groupings, and, maybe it is just in my head, but it seems I can find my mark better with feathers. Might just be a confidence thing. I don't pay much attention to the noise thing too much and it has never caused me a problem, but that is another argument.

Plus...feathers just look cool, especially shield cuts.

hey ya old snood slapper,
i agree; i believe it was albert einstien who said it that science just tries to duplicate nature. there is no way that man can improve on nature... it has had some 6 billion years to perfect it... shoot feathers, it just makes sence!

There's just one little ole problem w/ feather. They just don't like to be wet, waterproofed or not. Blazers just don't care, and they work every bit as good as a feather.

There is just one little ole problem w/ blazers (and other vanes)! They don't like it when you hit limbs or other obstructions and when they do, your arrow is gonna fly more in the direction of the deflection. If you hit a limb with a feather it will fold down and then pop right back up to continue steering in the correct direction, more than likely. Had it happen both ways, and Blazers ain't whatch call "lo-profile". I still like Blazers as well though, but I prefer to hunt with feathers.

I'm sure this has been posted before, but I love the photos: http://www.trueflightfeathers.com/facts.htm

You're absolutely right. I'll still take my Blazers. I have to worry about rain more than mysterious limbs in my way. ;)

This is in reply to Waltwittman and the quote from Einstien. If that is true of feathers as opposed to "man made" vanes then am I to assume you shoot wooden arrows out of a wooden bow? Sometimes I just can't help it, I gotta be a wise guy!

BLAZERS!!!.......I've shot feathers for 15years and just switched to blazers. I can't tell the difference between the two. Only difference was that I had to move my pins because the blazers were faster expecially at 30 yards. So it was easy for me......blazers! Just as accurate for me plus the most durable little bastards Ive ever seen!
