Thanks Detachment Lieuntent. I'll do some research on that model as well. Man, my head is now swimming with specs from all kinds of stands.
I still can't find a weight for the Millenium stand though. I don't see it on the manufacturers home page.

Thanks Hardcore! I hadn't even heard of the Millenium before. I will check them out. I must say they sure LOOK comfortable. I can see myself napping on the job in that stand.
Now that's the kind of information I was looking for! Thanks again.

RE: Need help chosing a hang on tree stand
Thanks Mustad.
Now I'm wondering how heavy is too heavy to pack around the mountains on my WITH my pack?A stand that packsflat also becomes an issue since I will bewearing a backpack as well. MaybeI could wear the backpack on the front? How do you guys carry a backpack and a stand?
I know it's a bit goofy but I tend to climb the trees with all my accoutraments. I climb with my bow, my pack and now a stand because the trees I climb are so thick that it would be very difficult to bring up a rope with the stuff. I do think It would be in my best interests to try to cut an opening and install a rope on some of my better trees.
Perhaps I'll call Cabelas and talk to product specialist today on their impressions of the hang on stands we have been discussing?
Thanks again for the help.

RE: Need help chosing a hang on tree stand
I spoke with a Cabela's product rep yesterday. He was less than knowledgable on archery stuff (I think all the smart guys had a long weekend). He really didn't know jack about the stands unless I gave him the Cabela'spart numbers. I did have him run their numbers for me and the stand most sold and least returned was the Lone Wolf Alpha hang on.
I sure wish I had a local archery shop that stocked all these stands soI could sit in them myself.
I did see and feel the Lone Wolf climber base (same as the hang on). It was nice but for some reason I seem drawn to the Summit Copperhead. I think it's because all the best bow hunters I know swear by Summit climbing stands.

I also have a couple of olderLonewolf alpha stands. They just don't come any quieter. Light also. My only problem with them is the seat is not very comfortable nor waterproofbecause it is not made with a closed cell foam material. Love their climbing sticks.
Esteban9970, You said that you replaced your older one with a seat kitand footrests. Iwas thinking about doing that to mine andwaswonderingif theywere worth the investment. Is the seat a lot more comfortable? Also, is the new seat waterproof?
Thanks,
Silverfox

Exactly, the seat on the Lone Wolf and the rest of them for that matter look uncomfortable. The Millenium looks by FAR the most comfortable of the stands we have been discussing.
I'm not sure if it packs FLAT though. It is 14 1/2 lbs too which for my application is at my upper limit. If it was only 12 lbsI would have already ordered one.
