snuffer 125
I'm in the process of building my own recurve. If it turns out right it should be 55# at 28 inches. I like the looks of the snuffer. It's big, so it will cut a huge hole, thus more blood and internal damage = quicker kill and easy recovery. I plan to shoot heavy arrows probably in the 600 grain area. Will this get good penetration. Second, has anyone ever hit a deer in the shoulder with this head. This appears to be the downfall of this head. It has to be impossible to push that through a shoulder bone. How about the Spine. Any experiences with accuracy problems, sharpening, bending, balancing etc..

my dad shoots them but with a compound.. his arrows are heavy and he has had no problem killing the deer with them

RE: snuffer 125
try the razorcap bh. it is like the snuffer but better built, made from stainless steel and flies like a field point. cuts a big hole and relatively easy to sharpen with a mill file and a steel rod.

Snuffers are wicked heads, if you get them sharp they will leave a nasty hole thats for sure! The Wensel Woodmans is another great 3 blade head for the traditional shooter. They are very close in design.

I shoot them out of my compound bows, and they fly like darts, and they put holes in deer that look like they were hitwith spear heads. I have tried the new montecs, and razorcaps, but dollar for dollar, there is not a better head on the market today. They should fly well out of your recurve, and kill well also.
