The Block 4x4

Hey there...

One of the Christmas presents I received was The Block 4x4! My twin daughters really surprised me with it... I didn't expect it at all! :D

I have used a few different targets from compressed styrofoam targets to The Black Hole target. Neither of them stood up well. The styrofoam block 24"x24"x12" held up for a while, then slowly started disintegrating to the point where I was afraid to shoot at it again. The Black Hole stood up well to field tips, but got trashed all to heck with broadheads.

Now here comes The Block 4x4:

One word - WOW!! I don't know how they designed it, but let me tell you straight up, this thing is AWESOME! [8D] Field tips, broadheads, whatever... it holds up and somehow, someway, "seals" itself back up. With my old classic PSE bow (maybe 230 fps) and XX75 aluminum arrows, I can only get penetration of about 4-5" into the Block 4x4 at 20 yards. The compressed styrofoam target I had, would almost let the arrow pass through! Same with the Black Hole target! [&:]

If you don't have a Block 4x4, you might want to consider getting one! See the image below:

I saw The Block 4x4 at Dick's Sporting Goods for $99.95. They are worth every penny, in my opinion...

I just got the Glen Del Full Rut Buck for Christmas. It looks like it should be a great target but,due to the weather I haven't had a chance to set it up and shoot into it yet. I can tell though, like many of the other Block Seriestargets, it will perform as well as it says.

I got the original Block about two years ago. I don't know how many shots it's taken, but probably over 1500 and still hasn't had a single pass-through. Another cool thing about them is that they're easy to transport. We take ours up to our treestands and sight in the bows from 15 ft. off the ground. Also, get the rubber gripper for pulling arrows out, it's only a few bucks but will definitely help you out.

I bought a Trykon last week. I was getting all pass-throughs on my bag target at 20 yards, so I went back to the Hoyt dealer to see what he had in the way of layered targets.Because I had just laid out a bundle on my new set-up he let me have a4X4 at cost ($60). He normally sells them for $90. So far I love it, but Ihaven't shot any broadheads at it yet. At 62lbs with a 28.5" draw, I get about 6 or 7 inches of penetration at 20 yards!(No jokes, please!)
