aluminum and carbon
 

a buddy of mine is shooting an arrow that i believe is made by easton, but the inside is aluminum and the outside is carbon. he says there forgiving like aluminum and fast like carbon. have you guys ever seen these or what are your opinions

I have heard of them but as yet I have not seen them or shot them.

I have been keeping my eye on eastons web page and as yet they dont mention them.

Those are the Easton A.C.C.'s. I use to shoot them as well, but they end up taking a set bend just like a regular aluminum arrow can. Way too much money per dozento have to worry about them bending on you.
The carbon was splintering at the insert end as well. Better off getting an "all" carbon arrow than the A.C.C.'s in my opinion. Been there done that.

I am a huge fan of any arrow with aluminum in it! I believe, that they shoot more consistantly for me. Currently, I am shooting a bowtech allegiance set at 75 lbs. I draw 28.5 inches. The two arrows that shoot best are the beman matrix (carbon and aluminum) and the xx78 2514. The 2514 shoots a touch better.They are both cut to 28 inches, the 340 wears 100 grains on the tip, the2514 wears 125. Blazers on the 340, 5 in marcos on the 2514. I realize that there are carbons thatI have not tried that may shoot better, I just have not invested in them. I have shotblack hawk, beman, gold tip and easton excel. Remember, the aluminum in the composites can still bend, but they are tough. As far asshooting inside 35yards, ICOULD shoot all carbons. But after 40 I really notice the difference. Lets just say I like to be confident when I shoot at my target at 60.

Maytom is right. this is my setiments exactally. no reason to have aluminum anything with carbon. It (ACC) just makes a carbon arrow worse. Go all carbon and never worry about a bent arrow. But there is one thing that you have to inspect carbon arrows for splinters. If it has anything wrong with them. chuck them out. there was a picture around hear years ago of a carbon exploding during release and the arrow exploded and ended up in his arm. this is the worse possible situation. So just look them over and you are fine. I will NEVER go back to carbon arrows EVER.

I agree with the Carbon guys. More speed anda quieterdraw.Only time I ever broke one was when a deer fell over on it and when one blew through my target,1/2" Plywood and hit a concrete block wall

By the way,The G5 Montec was still salvagable after all that.Thats one tough broad!!!
