Why would you want a lighter arrow ?

CX 300's are 8gpi
Maxima's are 8.2 gpi

your 340's are 9.5gpi

RE: What is the lightest weight hunting arrow ?

Sorry I forgot something, you can't go under 360gr for an arrow with your set up(5 gr per pound of draw minimum). The maxima with a 100gr tip will put you close to 378gr.The 300's will put you right at 373.Your axis weighs right at 415gr.w/ a 100gr tip.

Arrow speed will increase 1 fps per 3-6gr loss depending on your bow.So you will only gain 7-14fps.So is it worth $100 for 7-14fps?It's up to you.Hope I helped.

04 Patriot Dually
Set at 72lbs 29" draw
Easton Axis 340's
Spitfire Mechanicals
Nap Drop Away
291fps / 80lbs of KE
With that kind of setup and KE I sure wouldn't be looking for a lighter arrow. Certainly not for hunting anyway.A bud of mine ( Nubo ) shoots the axis shafts out of his Dually also and I tell ya those arrows are under rated. I will likely switch over to them next year myself.

He had a few bad ones in his bunch I'm pretty sure. They are real popular.I guesseastons arethe mathews of arrows, and CX would be like bowtechs. What works for one may not work for the other....;)

If I were you I would seriously reconsider what you are thinking. You don't want to go with the lightest weight arrow you can find. You want a stout arrow that will blast your broadhead through tough muscle, and in bad circumstances, bone.
