RE: Boots
I won't buy Rocky's ever again!
Bought a pair last year for over $130 and by the end of the season(4 mo) the sole was falling off them from the center of the boot!! the Rockey dealer said it was from climbing up and down those tree spikes, and hasseled me about giving me my money back.I told them they were a hunting boot and what did he think people were going to do with them??:eek:duh! He tried to exchange them for boots that were even more expensive!!! And of course I would have to add a couple more bucks, but THEY were more durable!! Finaly I asked for the manager, and he fully refunded my money! Never had that problem with my Alpha Burly ,steel shanked rubber boots!! 3 years now!!;) |
RE: Boots
All I wear are Rocky's. I'm wondering if your experience wasn't just a fluke. My Rocky's have NEVER let me down. Sorry to hear about your experience though. The guy that sold you them sounds like a real tool.

RE: Boots
The only reason I get a new pair is because of scent. I bought a pair of rubber this year so i dont have to worry about scent. I am worried about these cold ohio winters though. I'll let you know.

RE: Boots
Lacrosse.
:D Interesting design though. How does it work? |
RE: Boots
Danner, LaCrosse, and Irish Setter. I own a pair from all three and have not had a single problem with any of them. I have had Rocky's in the past and they didn't seem to hold up as well as these do.
I also, IMHO, found that Rocky's seem to be a bit heavier than the others. This was a few years ago since i checked so that may have changes with the new technologies that everyone is using. |
RE: Boots
My Rocky boots both leaked after 2 seasons! I got my money back from Gander and went with the Alpha Burly and never looked back! They are alot lighter and a better tread when climbing up that kick ass ridge! Good luck this season!!!!!! Hunt Hard & Hunt often!

RE: Boots
I've got two pair of Rocky's, a pair of Irish Setters, and a pair of Alpha Burlys. The Irish Setters seem to be the toughest of my boots. All have been quite comfortable (I have to get Rocky's in wide). My Alpha's leak a little but it's not much of a factor unless I'm in water for a considerable amount of time.

RE: Boots
my buddy bought the rocky cornstalkers the first year they came out. they were advertised as the best boot you could have. for like 129$ they were supposed to be water proof and breathable. he told me they leaked so bad he couldnt wear them anymore after 2 outings. i would never buy rocky.
