Muzzy Phantoms
Has anyone tested these yet, I thought about buying some for this year.

RE: Muzzy Phantoms
I can't say I've ever "tested them".
ButI did blow one through the buck in my avatar. The arrow diced right through him like light through air. There was a nice big nasty blood shot spray pattern left on the ground from behind where he was hit like a good gun shot would do. The blood trail was one of the best I've followed. I was hunting from the ground and hit him in the middle of the lung facing me and it exited high in the off side lung (13 yard shot), so he did go a fair distance (80-150 at night, who really knows) but the blood never ceased to pour until he was laying on the last puddle;). These are the headsI prefer to shoot, deadly for sure. BTW, I believe 5 shot has tested them. |
RE: Muzzy Phantoms
They did very well in my broadhead tests. I like the larger bleeder blades which make for a big wound channel. They are sharp and flight is also good.

RE: Muzzy Phantoms
I agree 5-shot the blades are very sharp out of the package. One thing that I did have a little trouble with was loose blades in the ferrule. For some reason the blade retention was just not tight. Has anyone else have this problem?

RE: Muzzy Phantoms
Thanks for the info---I think I'm going to try them this year.

RE: Muzzy Phantoms
Bobco, no loose blades on my end.

RE: Muzzy Phantoms
i haven't had the blade issue either. easy to sharpen also - over and over. only down i'll say is you really need to have your bow tuned to those heads, and any mistakes you make in your shot will be amplified. i've found them to be a bit touchy with form deviations on my end beyond 30 yards or so.
