Muzzy Phantom Broadheads

Anyone try these new cut on contact heads from Muzzy. I have been shooting the old Muzzy 100 gr.3 blade for years. I am having a little trouble getting them to fly right with my new bow. They are grouping ok but not great. I have been thinking of going to a cut on contact head for while anyway.

I have heard such good things about the Magnus Stingers but when I went to the pro shop they had these Muzzy Phantoms. They were out of the Stingersand wont get any for over a week. They look very similar to the Stingers but I think the Stingers from the pictures I have seen look a bit better built.

I am trying to avoid spending the cash to buy both to try them out:eek:yeah I know Im cheap but I have a whole box full of about 8 different styles of heads I dont use and at an average of $25.00 for three theres like $200.00 in heads in there!!

I picked up some to try this yr , they fly good but I'll have to wait till fall to find out the rest:D I see the bigger bleeder as a plus . My wife shoots 40# so i think the stinger buzzcuts will be perf for her to try out this yr but they are hard to come by right now

I shot the Phantoms and found that is was hard to keep the bleeders tight. I also killed an elk with one and was not inpressed how the tip bent over from hitting large rib bone. I went with the razorcaps this year and am very impressed with the design and flight characteristics. It is also a hard stainless steel head and should preform well as a 3 blade COC head. They are flying awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I killed a buck last year with a phantom and the carnage it produced was awesome.
With that said, the Phantom is a big broadhead with a lot of wind catching wings on it. If you are having troubles getting 3 blade muzzys to group I don't thing the Phantom is the answer your looking for.
In my experience the Stingers are more of what your after and that is coming from someone who shoots both Stingers and Phantoms.
