Quicktune drop away rests
I have a Nap quicktune drop away rest. I am getting a new noise when I draw back. I get a squeak from my carbon arrow whenI draw back from where the arrow rests on the forks. I can't figure out why it's doing it. Any idea's? The protectivetubing isnot worn throughon it,Shall I just go to a whisker biscuit and be done with it?

RE: Quicktune drop away rests
It's probably not the arrow but a dirty rest. Check to see that the rests horrizontal shaft and inside the brass bushing is clean. You could have a small ommount of stuff in there that is causing the squeak when the shaft rotates inside the bushing.

get a wisker biscuit and you will never think twice

RE: Quicktune drop away rests
I had the same problem. I fixed it with some fleece on the forks.

:DI used to use this rest and would still be using it if it would fit the new Bowtechs.I highly recomend the rest when asked about it. I did'nt have that noise, but I did swap the standard black fork tamers out for a set of pure teflon white ones. You may want to try that first.
Don't go to a wisker biscuit. Isn't total fletch clearence our goal? |

Muzzyman where did you get them your pro shop?

RE: Quicktune drop away rests
Try waxing your arrows. Use regular car wax. The smell will go away very quickly--day or two. Worked great for me.

RE: Quicktune drop away rests
Car wax no kidding? I picked up new teflon forktamers today. I will try them first.

RE: Quicktune drop away rests
I shoot the Hoyt version of that rest and have had the same problem. I usually just use a thin coat of Chapstick on the forks and the sound goes away. It is usually related to a wet or dirty shaft.
Good luck. |
RE: Quicktune drop away rests
I have to say I am disappointed. With this drop away rest even with new fork tamers and clean arrow shafts I am still getting that hunt ending squeak when I draw back. I have a hard time accepting we have to wax our arrows or use chapstick. Just one more thing in the back of your mind especially if you forget suzie chapstick at home.
I have no clue why it still does that. |
