Crimson Talon Broadheads

Are the crimson Talon broadheads any good or are they just a big hype?

I was wondering the same thing.. I went with the Wac'em broadheads instead but I sure was looking at those ones. They sure look sweet![:-]

I talked w/ a couple of guides in IL who swear by them... I am still reluctant. Pretty bada## looking though.

Carpmasters cousin used them and the blades sheared off going through the deer. He cut himself field dressing it. I wouldn't use them, there are too many better broadheads out there.

I used them the first year thay came out. They are accurate but the blades are thin and bend easy, I complained to the company, and they stated thay wanted the bladeds thin so that they would bend around bone:eek:. They sent replacement blades, but when they bent just putting them in my quiver I gave up on them. I went with Monotec G5's and they work great:).

They will kill game, but the quality of construction is not as good as it should be and they price is twice as much as conventional heads such as Muzzys, thunderheads etc.

I agree , they look like a slimmed down muzzy. The blades are way to thin. Last year we tested many broadheads on 2 pieces of pressure treated 1/2 ply wood ( understandably it's not flesh but the test was for durability and penetration) these broadheads completly exploded into pieces upon entering the wood and didn't even get the head through the board. Bottom line it looks like a muzzy but in fact it's not at all. If your wondering what the muzzy 100 grain 3 blade did it went completly through both boards without a scratch. Our set up was all 100 grain broadheads with acc's 3-71 29in arrow 70lbs draw at 25 yards. Not saying that this broadhead won't kill if placed in the right spot( but so will a field point). My advice stay away from look alikes, your hunt is worth it.

They are a poor choice of BH for each and every reason listed above. Plus, they performed very poorly in 5-Shot's tests. Muliefever made an excellent decision...

I was a big fan of CT broadheads, until they started breaking. They fly good, but not any better than Montec's, slick tricks, or Wac'ems. This year I am going to use the Grim Reaper's and see how they do.
