Startin
I just decided to get into it and was wongering how much a good reel and arrow and all that good stuff costs.

RE: Startin
A AMS Retreiver Reel is about $55 to $60. You can spend $10 for a cheap fiberglass arrow and point or get into the $50 range for a high quality stainless tip and triple laminated Carbon/Aluminum arrow.
Good Luck and Aim Low! |
RE: Startin
One more thing BigBuck90........I really suggest picking up a cheap used bow.....Your good Deer rig will get pretty messed up. Usually for $40 to $60 you can find a good old cheap compound and then I recomend a Bowfishing Whisker Biskit arrow rest. Then your set!
Good Luck! |
RE: Startin
Thats a lot CLOUD, im gonna try to have all my stuff before it gets warm again. Ill let you now how everything goes
|
RE: Startin
I would recommend an old recurve at 50# - it's lighter to hold all day or night and easier to get snap shots off.
|
RE: Startin
Wat kind of tips/arrows do you guys use?
|
RE: Startin
i shoot a oneida black eagle with a shakespeare synergy 20 real on a muzzy real seat with a muzzy rod tip

RE: Startin
if you are going to use your 808, or another type of closed face reel
i would recommend that you use fast flight 200# string. you can,t beat it. good luck, BSFS |
RE: Startin
would a dmon howwatt with a moleskin rest work? at 45 pounds
|
RE: Startin
most certainly will... I do 99% of my shooting with a Bear Kodiak Mag 45# with a Bear Hair rug on the shelf... those pictures I posted over on the other thread are of my big fish bow, Oneida Black Eagle with a slotted retriever, when I travel down south...

RE: Startin
bigbuck90, you might want to try meeting with the Illinois State Bowfishers for a shoot or two. We're all about fun and we're right next door. ;)
ISB Most of shoots are listed in our forums. |
RE: Startin
I might do that after i get things all straightened out over here and get my bow.
