Outstanding picture-do you have any idea how many pounds you took? This will greatly help that water way clean itself up-more folks need to make this type of harvest.
|
RE: jan bowfishing in wisconsin (results)
roughly 2700 to 3000 lbs. we not only help this waterway but the fish were given to a local crayfish trapper who traps the rusty crayfish(another nonnative) here in wisconsin. last year he used about 3000 lbs of carp(most given to him by the wisconsin bowfishing assocation and its members) a week to remove 40,000 lbs of rusty crayfish from wisconsin waters.

RE: jan bowfishing in wisconsin (results)
and then he does what with the crawfish?... what is so bad about the rusty crawfish?...
|
RE: jan bowfishing in wisconsin (results)
he sells them for food i really don't know alot about the rusty crayfish except people don't want them in the lakes here..
|
RE: jan bowfishing in wisconsin (results)
Rusty crawfish are obnoxious little critters that are loved by othe fish as food especially bass and pike-however they devour eggs during the spawn and can tear a nesting habitat for fish to pieces. Generally their tails are not too bad when boiled-outstanding effort in cleaning the waters guys
