With out getting to lenghthy.......get a cheap compound ( don't use you good deer set-up, and don't use your good release, you'll never get the smell out) buy a Bowfishing Whisker Bisqit and a AMS retreiver reel. I do like sights (alot of bowfisherman go insticntive) a single pin and a kisser button.....peep sights take way to long, and to start just get a cheap white fiberglass arrow with a penetrator or muzzy tip. Spend alittle time getting you arrow to fly decent. Go to a nearby lake with fairly clear water and shoot off a dock. Practice hitting small rocks, shells, or whatever. Once you have the art of aiming low somewhat mastered ( low because of refraction )
Start hunting! Thats just what it is! Get out in a boat, walk creek banks, areas by bridges and on and on! Have fun! |

If you buy the AMS retreaver reel and kit. It comes with the reel, line, two arrows, and the rest for 109. Its a pretty good deal. They also give you a video showing guys shooting carp, gar, aligators, and stingray. Its fun to watch and also they give you pointers on how to be more accurate.
