Inserts

I know I am not the only one who struggles with the inserts coming out of recurves. Until the purchase of my latest recurve it was a big problem. Now my buddy is having the same problems with the inserts coming out. Neither one of like shooting the AMS retriever reels so thats out of the question. His bow is a brand new Martin Rebel, he has already sent it back to Martin once for the insert. It took them about six months to send it back. Anyone have any tips to keeping this thing in. We've JB welded it, used epoxy, tried wood glue. We're pulling our hair out here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Retriever.. heh heh

I've heard of others having this problem too. Maybe try gorilla glue. It expands as it sets. ????

(retriever user here) ;)

Gorillashould work. It's the one that expands and it sticks to everything. Or if you can't find Gorilla-brand, just look for a polyurethane-glue. It's the same thing.

Thanks for the tips guys/gals

So...........last night I went with a couple buddys to the spillway. Once there we met up with another friend who brought a couple guys I didn't know. Guess what one was shooting..............yep.........a Martin Rebel. We went thirty minutes into shooting and his insert broke loose. He bought the bow three days prior from Bass Pro.

So.........you think it is just that particular brand of bow (Martin)?

Or is it just the make (Rebel)?

Maybe it's Texas... :o)

I think it's a Martin thing.

It may be a Texas thing.

I guess thats what happens when you go from mid 30's the high 80's and rain/humidity to dry as a bone.[&o]

But its still the best state;):D

if the gorrilaa glue dont work. go to a lumber yard and see if u can get some "geocell". its a type of caulk that could glue ur car to the pavement.

Is it something I could buy at a hardware store in a smaller bottle? Or is it only for industrial type situations?
