Submersible lights
Last night I was out crappie fishing and I was using two Brinkmann Starfire halogen lights. These lights light up the water under the boat like the day time and you can see several feet on both sides of the boat.
My quesiton is, have any of you ever used submersible lights for bowfishing or would it spook the fish? |
RE: Submersible lights
I think in clear water they'd work. (they use them for gigging flounders) Probably not enough cast in murky water to be useful for bowfishing.
You'd really have to be careful with the stumps, sticks and rocks. And if your arrowed fish are anything like mine, they're going to head straight for those lights and get tangled up around them. |
RE: Submersible lights
Good point, I hadn't thought of that. Thanks for the advice.

RE: Submersible lights
I dont post here much, but ive used them for gar before. You have to be quick with the bow. They will come boil up in the light, usually after the bait fish that are attracted by the light. We did it quite a bit in East Texas back in the 80s.
