arrow rest

OK new guy question, what type of arrow rest are you guys using? My Retriever Pro reel came with a rest, its just a thin wire and the arrow seems to get knocked off easily.

I just shoot off the shelf. I formed some quicksteel on the edge of the shelf to help hold the arrow on.

I have one bow with a whisker biscuit which I love and another with the fishhook, which seems to work great also. I tried a large screw eye for a while. That worked good also. In bowfishing I like a rest that holds my arrow inplace while I'm in the front of the boat moving around, usually pointing out fish to my partner!

I have a plumbers-putty rest on one bow, a Muzzy Fishook rest on one and the other I shoot off the shelf.

At least I hit the ones you point out...

I use the shelf on my recurves, and have tried a roller on a compound (wasn't impressed).
Bought a Fishhook to replace it, but haven't put it on yet.

The putty rests seem to work VERY well from what I've heard.

I shoot off the shelf as well. If I had a bow that had to have a rest, I go with the Whisker biscuit as a first choice or an epoxy rest second. Just my 2 cents.
