Default Bowfishing Sharks Question

Im planning a trip for my new boat this summer, and the plan is to go about 5 miles off coast, chum in some sharks, and if legal shoot them with my bow, if not just fish for them.......my question is for the little sharks lets say whatever the minimum keeper length is up to around 40-50 ", would i need to buy a slotted reciever setup, or could i gedt by with just using my normal retriever. I have the AMS bottle retriever.....any insight on this would be appreciated.

Default RE: Bowfishing Sharks Question

Have not tried this yet myself. Have fished shark in past. I would suggest the slot. The power of a shark when it takes off would not want to be holding a bow when they strip the line off.
