First time out success
Went out the first time yesterday and hit a 20# plus Buffallo on my third shot while it was sucking down some scum in a log jam. I was surprised that he didnt fight that hard, hardly at all, but the arrow went right through his head. Shot two more rangeing from 12 to 15#. My dad went also and shot two and is wondering why we have never done this because it is awsome!!! Im going out tonight to try and spotlight some gar hopefully. I know I have asked this question before on here but the post has been deleted ,so Im sorry, but can you tell me what you do with your kill. I need some ideas because I realy dont like killing somthing without utilizing it in some way. If anything it is a good way of conserving them and manageing there population:D

RE: First time out success
use it as coyote bait or give it to someone fishing near you. that is what i always do.

RE: First time out success
If you can find some one to give it to great. Other than that we use it for coyote and coon food. If there are any Animal shelters around some of them will take some. Good luck. It does seem like a waste to just dump them but they are an evasive fish and you are doing the eco system a favor..

What do you use for bowfishing? Would you reccomend it?

RE: First time out success
Carp are invasive - kill all you want. Buffalo are generally native, except a few places like Arizona where they've been introduced into the lakes. Buffs are great eating. So are gar once you get the hang of cleaning them.

RE: First time out success
I went out for the first time this weekend and we shot some Tilipia. They are excellent eating though they need warm water to survive. We are planning another trip soon. I had trouble at first hitting anything but soon learned how to aim. By the end of the day I even shot a 5' water snake. They told me I couldn't hit it but I got lucky or unlucky however you look at it and hit it. They are not posinous but they can really bite. My buddies son skinned it out and wants to make a blet out of the skin.
